Minutes
We went over minutes from November, action steps taken since November, and the outcome of inquiries since November meeting.
We agreed that highest priority is increasing the size and strength of the Public Information committee. We still need to follow through on getting clarity about previous attendees (Deborah to do).
Draft of announcement to be read at meetings, sent out on e-mails, and/or relayed to other fellows who might be interested to join us:
The public information committee wishes to add more members. Skills and qualities desired, and terms of service follow:
- For officer positions: have completed through Step 5 with a UA sponsor who has completed all 12 Steps in UA;
- For other committee members: have been in UA at least 6 months, be actively working the steps and tools; conscientious about their recovery and wanting to serve;
- Term of service one year; can renew up to one additional year.
- Willingness to meet for one hour per month;
- Writing skills;
- Proofreading & editing skills;
- Outreach experience (outside and within 12-Step fellowships);
- Ability to make a commitment and follow through;
- Ideally, experience having served on the P.I. committee of other fellowships.
Please get back to me within the week if you have any suggested changes. (Per my reading, announcement takes less than one minute.)
Will send copies of current P.I. documents to Cait. (Deborah to do).
Other members (Julie, Marianne) will get back to Deborah on draft of announcement to begin to make on meetings.
Suggestion(s): get copies of current Public Information documents onto 9th Tradition.org website, if they will post, and possibly create a Word Press website for the Public Information Committee to post its own documents-in-progress, that can have a link on the main UA website.
