NOTES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Tamyah and Matt will alternate as Chair for this meeting.
- Less time will be given for committee reports/Q&A at this meeting to allow us to fully consider the question of suggested service qualifications.
- We will also shorten the time for committee reports/Q&A for the August meeting to get status reports from the GSR’s about their meetings. We would like to know, for each meeting,
- What is going particularly well.
- What is going particularly “not so well”.
- How can the GSB help?
Opening (20 minutes):
· Serenity Prayer (“We” version)
· Chair opening statements
· Request for timekeeper
· Reading of the Traditions
· Roll-call
o Officers and committee chairs
o GSR’s (name and meeting)
- Reading of secretary’s minutes
· Treasurer’s report
Committee Reports
(6 min. for both report and Q&A, extra time for WSCC as needed):

· World Service Conference Committee (WSCC):
New Business (Time sensitive, so this needs to be considered first):
Appropriation of up to $550 for a 9 day mini SUV rental so that Tamyah can run various errands and transport various items for the WSC. $200 will be returned to the treasury when the vehicle is returned.
Note: Tamyah received a quote of $450 on HotWire.com, but prices fluctuate daily.
Old/New Business: Suggested service qualifications for officers
Note: The following are suggestions only. However, they represent the collective recommendations of the current GSB officers, as experience has shown that service at the GSB level requires considerable recovery. We urge those UA members that meet these requirements to seriously consider standing for election.
CHAIR
1. Completed all 12 steps in UA with a UA sponsor who has done the same
2. A working knowledge of the 12 Traditions and familiar with the 12 Concepts of World Service
3. A consistent and active member of UA for at least 2 years
4. At least 6 months of current and continuous solvency and prosperity
5. Of service in an elected position at a group level in UA for at least 6 months (ex: Business chair, Moderator, GSR, etc.)
6. Able to commit approx. 20 hrs. of service monthly towards this position (includes attending monthly GSB meetings, agenda meetings, etc.)
VICE CHAIR
1. Completed all 12 steps in UA with a UA sponsor who has done the same
2. A working knowledge of the 12 Traditions and familiar with the 12 Concepts of World Service
3. A consistent and active member of UA for at least 2 years
4. At least 6 months of current and continuous solvency and prosperity
5. Of service in an elected position at a group level in UA for at least 6 months (ex: Business chair, Moderator, GSR, etc.)
6. Able to commit approx. 20 hrs. of service monthly towards this position (includes attending monthly GSB meetings, agenda meetings, etc.)
7. Able to fulfill the duties of the Chair if necessary
SECRETARY
1. Completed all 12 steps in UA with a UA sponsor who has done the same
2. A working knowledge of the 12 Traditions and familiar with the 12 Concepts of World Service
3. A consistent and active member of UA for at least 2 years
4. At least 6 months of current and continuous solvency and prosperity
5. Of service in an elected position at a group level in UA for at least 6 months (ex: Business chair, Moderator, GSR, etc.)
6. Able to commit approx. 20 hrs. of service monthly towards this position (includes attending monthly GSB meetings, agenda meetings, etc.)
7. Proficient in Microsoft Word or equivalent
INFORMATION OFFICER
1. Completed all 12 steps in UA with a UA sponsor who has done the same
2. A working knowledge of the 12 Traditions and familiar with the 12 Concepts of World Service
3. A consistent and active member of UA for at least 2 years
4. At least 6 months of current and continuous solvency and prosperity
5. Of service in an elected position at a group level in UA for at least 6 months (ex: Business chair, Moderator, GSR, etc.)
6. Able to commit approx. 20 hrs. of service monthly towards this position (includes attending monthly GSB meetings, agenda meetings, etc.)
7. Proficient in Microsoft Word or equivalent
TREASURER
1. Completed all 12 steps in UA with a UA sponsor who has done the same
2. A working knowledge of the 12 Traditions and familiar with the 12 Concepts of World Service
3. A consistent and active member of UA for at least 2 years
4. At least 6 months of current and continuous solvency and prosperity
5. Has served as a treasurer at a group level in UA or has professional experience with accounting or finance
6. Able to commit approx. 20 hrs. of service monthly towards this position (includes attending monthly GSB meetings, agenda meetings, etc.)
MOTION #2 – SUGGESTED GUIDELINES FOR COMMITTEE CHAIRS
COMMITTEE CHAIRS
1. Completed at least the 9th Step in UA with a UA Sponsor who has done the same
2. Familiar with the 12 Traditions
3. A consistent and active member of UA for at least 1 year
4. At least 6 months of current and continuous solvency and prosperity
5. Of service in an elected position at a group level in UA for at least 6 months (ex: Business chair, Moderator, GSR, etc.)
6. Able to commit approx. 20 hrs. of service monthly towards this position (includes attending monthly Committee meetings, GSB meetings, agenda meetings, etc.)
